Meeting Points and Pick-Up

We offer convenient pick-up services from your Reykjavik accommodation. If you prefer to drive yourself, our base camp is just a short 15-minute drive from Reykjavik. Please note that hotel pick-ups are not included in the tour price, but can be arranged separately.

The Adventure Begins

Buggy Base Camp: The tour starts at our base camp, where you will be equipped with all necessary gear and receive a safety briefing. Our base camp is located minutes from Reykjavik, making it an easy and quick start to your adventure.

The Drive: Embark on a thrilling drive through the backlands of Reykjavik, navigating lonely trails that lead to the Hengill mountain range and the Hellisheiðarvirkjun geothermal power plant. This area, known for its lunar-like landscape, was a filming location for “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.”

Highlights of the Tour

• Geothermal Areas: Your first stop is at the geothermal area near the power plant. This spot offers an otherworldly experience with steam rising from the ground, set against the backdrop of volcanic mountains.

The Buggies

Our buggies are two-seater, 4×4 vehicles that are fully automatic and equipped with the latest safety features, including roll cages, safety belts, and double A-arm front suspension. They are road-legal and perfect for navigating Iceland’s rugged terrain.

Important Information

• Driver Requirements: Drivers must be at least 17 years old and hold a full driver’s license. Passengers do not need a license.
• Passenger Requirements: The minimum age for passengers is 6 years old.
• Group Bookings: Prices are per person, and a minimum of two participants is required for the shared option. For odd numbers of participants (1, 3, 5), one person must book the single rider option.
• Weather and Conditions: Tracks and trails depend on weather and trail conditions, which can change rapidly.

We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if the booking is canceled one day or less before the event.
