HORSEBACK RIDING TOUR FOR EXPERIENCED RIDERS!

From our stables in Hafnarfjörur, explore the Reykjanes preservation area and discover the versatility of the Icelandic horse. Together with your guide, you will explore an ancient lava field, cool down at the Kaldá River, and visit the “holy mountain” Helgafell and the nearby inactive volcanic area. Please take note that this tour is intended for experienced riders who are strong and comfortable controlling their horses at all paces. The route selection is subject to vary to ensure that everyone has a good time and depends on the time of year and the weather.

Iceland Highlights prides itself on providing individualized service and keeps group sizes every riding group to 20 or fewer people to guarantee everyone has a fun and secure tour. We are eager to present the Icelandic horse to you in its natural habitat!

Riding proficiency: Strong intermediate riders are advised for this route. You should have a firm seat, feel at ease, and be in complete control.

What should I bring on this tour?

You should bring some warm gloves and a small hat that will fit under your riding helmet, as recommended. The cost of the rental includes the use of a helmet, warm overalls, a raincoat, rain pants, and rubber boots.

Please be aware that riding trips at Hraastair, Efri-stair, and Myrkholt are Meet on Location only tours and do not include transfers.

Important Note

• This tour’s minimum age requirement is 12 years old. To ride alone, a child must have documented parental consent and be at least 14 years old.
• The weight restriction for this tour is 110 kg/240 lbs.
• Each rider is responsible for determining whether they are physically capable of participating in the journey, including mounting and dismounting the horses alone.
• When using your own vehicle, please arrive at our stable 30 minutes prior to departure.
• Please be aware that the riding journey lasts 2.5 hours, and that the entire time including the transfer is 5 hours.

What is the cancellation policy?

• If canceled by the client with more than 2 days notice – 96.5% of the payment will be refunded.
• 3.5% is a non-refundable merchant fee.
