Duration: Approx. 3.5–4 hours
Departure: Reykjavík (pickup included)
Highlights: Scenic drive through Hvalfjörður, entry to Hvammsvík Hot Springs, coastal views, local history
Escape the city and immerse yourself in one of Iceland’s most serene geothermal escapes — Hvammsvík Hot Springs, a stunning bay where eight naturally occurring hot pools meet the Atlantic Ocean.
Located along the scenic shores of Hvalfjörður (“Whale Fjord”), Hvammsvík offers a unique bathing experience that combines geothermal and ocean water, resulting in natural pools of varying temperatures and depths. The tides of the Atlantic cause the water levels to shift throughout the day, creating what’s called an “ever-changing experience.” Whether you’re soaking close to the ocean’s edge or relaxing in a tucked-away hillside pool, the landscape and atmosphere here are constantly transforming.
In 2022, Hvammsvík opened to the public for the first time, and in 2023, Time Out Magazine named it the Best Thing to Do in the World — a well-earned title for such an unforgettable destination.

Your guide will share fun facts — including how Hvalfjörður was once home to British and American naval bases during WWII and served as the main route between Reykjavík and West Iceland until the Hvalfjörður Tunnel was built in 1998.
