Tour Itinerary

Longest Fjord to the Waterfall of Gods

The tour starts along the coast of Eyjafjordur, one of the longest fjords in Iceland. Our first stop will be at Goðafoss waterfall, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland. No wonder it translates to Waterfall of Gods!

Soon we reach Lake Mývatn, the lake was created by a large basaltic lava eruption 2300 years ago, and the surrounding landscape is dominated by volcanic landforms, including lava pillars and rootless vents.

Pseudo Craters, Lava Formations and Geothermal Rift

We stop in Skútustaðagígar (pseudo craters) on the way to the unique lava formations of Dimmuborgir which are among the most popular tourist attractions in the Mývatn area.

Soon after we visit Grjótagjá Rift, an old natural bathing spot filled with naturally heated water coming out of a rift.

Waterfalls of Selfoss and Dettifoss

The Selfoss waterfall and Dettifoss, the most powerful waterfall in Europe, will be stops on the itinerary.

Bathing in Geothermal Baths

You will have an opportunity to soak in geothermal water. After the natural baths, we will drive back to Akureyri. The final stop is in Eyjafjordur, where you can gaze over the fjord towards Akureyri.

Our last stop is in Eyjafjordur where you can see over the fjord to Akureyri and take some great photos.

If we cancel the tour due to bad weather, you will receive an email and an offer to reschedule. If rescheduling does not work, we will refund the full refund.
