Experience the enchanting beauty of Iceland’s natural wonders by embarking on an unforgettable night tour that combines the mystical Aurora Borealis with the fascinating world of lava tunnels. This unique tour offers an exceptional blend of celestial spectacle and geological exploration, making it a must-do for any visitor to Iceland.
Your adventure begins with a convenient pickup from your chosen location in Reykjavik, aboard a comfortable minibus. You’ll be escorted to Raufarhólshellir, Iceland’s fourth-largest lava tube, located just 40 kilometers from the capital. This magnificent lava tunnel, formed over 5,200 years ago during the Leitahraun eruption, stretches over 1,360 meters and boasts openings that create an airy and expansive atmosphere.
As you venture up to 900 meters into the tunnel, prepare to be captivated by the array of colors and the stunning geological formations that tell the fiery history of Iceland’s volcanic activity. The site’s cinematic allure is undeniable—it served as a filming location for the 2014 film “Noah,” adding a layer of intrigue to your visit.
After exploring the depths of the lava tunnel, the journey continues under the night sky as we search for the Northern Lights, one of nature’s most spectacular phenomena. The Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights, offers an awe-inspiring display of colorful lights dancing across the Arctic sky—a result of charged particles from the sun colliding with atmospheric gases.
Our experienced guides, equipped with cameras, are always ready to capture the moment the lights appear, ensuring you have a stunning photo to commemorate the experience. Enjoy a warm cup of cocoa as you gaze at the sky, wrapped in the celestial glow of the Aurora.
Embark on this night tour to witness the surreal landscapes and celestial phenomena that make Iceland a unique travel destination. Book your spot on the Northern Lights and Lava Tunnel Night Tour and prepare for an adventure that combines the thrill of discovery with the beauty of the night sky.
Depending on where you are staying in Reykjavik, we can pick you up either directly from your hotel or at the bus stop closest to your accommodation.
Although the Northern Lights are an unpredictable natural phenomenon, our guides will stop at nothing to ensure you see them.
Given how much the success of the Northern Lights tour depends on the weather, it’s likely that you won’t see the Aurora Borealis during your trip. We give customers the option to free of charge board a minibus that departs to see the Northern Lights if they are unable to see them. Note that in order to reschedule, you must contact us.
Make sure you wear warm layers, a coat, an appropriate hat, gloves, and ankle-supporting boots for the best possible experience.
We will charge a cancellation fee of 96.5% if the booking is canceled 24 hours or less before the event.
The 3.5% Merchant Fee is included in this total.
