For those who enjoy beer and spirits, the trip is a great way to discover more about Iceland’s local brewing and distilling scene while also sampling some of the country’s tasty and distinctive products.
Your amiable driver guide will drop you off at your hotel or, if your spirit so desires, at the next great bar after the trip is over and you’re feeling upbeat.
Malbygg Microbrewery was founded in 2017 and has concentrated on creating beers that they enjoy drinking, but they are always willing to try new things and are always looking to make their brews better.
In addition to hoppy beers, they also brew stouts, wild/sour ales, and kettle-soured beers.
Eimverk is a family-run distillery that was established in 2009 with the goal of producing only locally sourced, high-quality Icelandic liquors. They make three spirits: Vor, a pot-distilled gin; Flóki, a single malt whisky; and Víti, a special blend of Icelandic Brennivín, or black death.
With 163 trial distillations and ageing testing over four years to achieve the ideal recipe, their whisky, Flóki, was the first of its kind in Iceland. They mature the whisky in brand-new American oak casks and utilise their specially designed distillation apparatus to obtain the full flavour from the 100% Icelandic barley they employ. The finished product is a complex malt that combines qualities of Irish, Scotch, and Bourbon whiskies in a distinctive way.
The tour lasts 3 hours and 30 minutes in total.
The meeting location is at the Ingólfur Square, by the 2 pillars.
Please keep in mind that in order to do this tour, we typically require a minimum of three passengers.
