The tour’s backup option is an excursion to Whales of Iceland themed around the Northern Lights called Auroras at Whales of Iceland. The best part is that you may use your ticket to join the Northern Lights by Boat tour on a different night.

Booking Northern Lights by Boat with a Backup Plan has a lot of advantages. Your evening of Auroras at Whales of Iceland has already been scheduled, so you have a spot reserved in case it is canceled due to unfavorable weather. Additionally, you get to keep your ticket for the boat cruise, which can be reserved for the following night.

We operate between September and April. The presence of clouds, for example, might affect the northern lights, a natural occurrence.
To pick up your ticket(s), come to the Special Tours Ticket Office, located at Geirsgata 11, 101 Reykjavík no later than 15 minutes before the tour departs. This will serve as your “check-in”.
Yes, we do pick up from hotels in downtown area for an extra cost. You may choose a pick up location upon check out. Pick up starts 60 minutes before the tour departs.
