The tour begins in Akureyri and takes you along the northern coast, stopping at the historic Laufás Turf Houses and Museum. Here, you will have the opportunity to learn about the unique construction techniques used in the past, including the recognizable herringbone pattern of the turf bricks, and gain a deeper understanding of life in Iceland during this time period.

Waterfall of the Gods and Glacier River

We drive to the mighty Goðafoss Waterfall, where there will be rich opportunities to capture the power of the Skjálfandafljót glacier river. Goðafoss translates to the waterfall of the gods, which is a fitting name considering how powerful it is.

Scenery and Geothermal Spa

Before returning to Akureyri, the tour makes a final stop at the Forest Lagoon, a spa heated by natural geothermal sources from the mountains. The geothermal waters are believed to possess restorative properties, but if you prefer to stay dry, you can enjoy a meal at their restaurant.

No worries, it is a private tour. If you know you will be running late, please contact us as soon as possible. We can either postpone the tour or change the schedule, depending how late you are.

You will receive a 96.5% refund if your cruise cannot dock.

What happens with my booking if you cancel the tour?

This tour depends on weather and road conditions, and changes to the itinerary might happen with short notice. If we cancel the tour due to bad weather, you will receive an email and an offer to reschedule. If rescheduling does not work, we will reimburse the full amount.
