Private Snorkeling Hot Springs Tour

A private guide, the snorkeling trip, and all required snorkeling gear are included in our private tours. We often depart from the busiest period (at Silfra) at a time that best suits your schedule, whether it be early in the morning or late at night, for our private tours.

The newly erupting volcano at Geldingadalir is only a short drive from Kleifarvatn, a lake in the breathtaking Reykjanes peninsula. We submerge ourselves around two meters to snorkel over a hot spring. This feeling has been compared to “snorkeling in a glass of Champagne.” Even more amazing is the fact that we are snorkeling inside a caldera.

We will meet you at the Seltún geothermal area for the snorkeling tour.

We take a car to Lake Kleifarvatn, where we suit you up on the lake’s edge in a dry suit. Next, we lead you across the hot spring, where the lake floor is covered in deposits of white and yellow sulfur

After returning to shore, we will have some refreshments at the shore before visiting Seltún, a close land-based geothermal area with high temperatures. Before bidding farewell, we will take a stroll by the bubbling mud pots and vibrant sulfur deposits in Seltún.

Selecting this option will result in your private guide picking you up in Reykjavík and driving you to Kleifarvatn. Your guide will provide you basic information about Iceland’s distinctive geology and cultural history during the hour-long drive.

This is the perfect experience if you want to escape the crowds and have Lake Kleifarvatn all to yourself.

I don’t know how to swim, can I still join this tour?

You need to know how to swim and to be physically fit to be able to join this tour.

Are pregnant women allowed to join this tour?

Pregnant women are not allowed to join this tour. You will be wearing a very tight and constricting drysuit, and will not be safe for the baby.

What is the Cancellation Policy for this tour?

• • We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if the booking is canceled 48 hours or less before the event.
  • We reimburse you 56.5% if the booking is canceled with more than 4 days notice.
  • 3.5% is a non-refundable Merchant fee.
