The phrase “an exciting super jeep ride” refers to an off-road journey across rough terrain. Unfortunately, some people find bumpy rides extremely difficult. Typically, we advise clients who are prone to car sickness to take the front seat so they can look straight ahead at the horizon. Over-the-counter motion sickness medications are available; speak with a doctor before using them. We advise bringing ginger or peppermint candy with you if you’re feeling queasy. We do not advise signing up for the tour if you are easily motion ill and it takes a while for that dreadful feeling to disappear.
Don’t be concerned that you’re “too old” to take an ice cave trip. Even in their 60s, 70s, and even 80s, many seniors continue to enjoy hiking. Any age group can enjoy one of our ice cave tours, which are fantastic outdoor activities. It’s a simple physical activity that doesn’t require mountaineering expertise, but you must be able to walk for 30 to 60 minutes over difficult terrain. We advise you to think about taking walking sticks if you are concerned about dangers such as falls. Walking sticks can help to provide additional support and stability.
Visitors with serious back pain are not advised to take one of our tours. Given that the jeeps are bouncy and that most of the trips take place on rugged terrain on dirt roads with potholes, we do not advise it to anyone who has a serious back or neck condition.
We are aware that some of us find it quite difficult to deal with the dread of being in tight areas. Please email us at info@iceland-highlights.com if you have any claustrophobia concerns, and we’ll provide you with the most recent information on the size of the cave. The ice cave is typically large and open, so there shouldn’t be anything stopping you from exploring one of Iceland’s natural wonders.
Yes! You should definitely bring your camera so you can go on your own personal ice cave photography tour! Along the way, there are so many breathtaking sights to see. It’s also a good idea to bring a tripod and extra batteries. We advise bringing a dry-bag with you if you are concerned about water damage.
You will view one to two naturally created ice caves, as well as several notable glaciers, waterfalls, landscapes, and even the original filming locations for numerous well-known movies, on this unique Iceland ice cave excursion. Every trip is a little bit different because the caves and glaciers change with time. You won’t find these off-the-beaten-path caves on any other trip because we’ll take you there.
Nope! All you need to wear is a set of weather-appropriate warm clothes, preferably in layers, and sturdy hiking shoes. The remainder of your necessary glacier hiking equipment will be provided by us.
Although you are free to bring your own drinks and snacks, we advise that you eat lunch before or after the tour. Near our meeting place, you will find some very nice restaurants.
