You will be hiking the valley of mighty Thor or in Icelandic “Þórsmörk”, in this tour, you will have a chance to experience the wilderness of outstanding panoramic views blending with the fresh mountain air.
This Thorsmork hiking day tour will lead you into the valley of Thor, this valley is surrounded by Mýrdalsjökull Glacier, Tindfjallajökull Glacier, and Eyjafjallajökull Glacier. You will see the icecaps sitting on top of the volcanoes. You will find the energy there, the place is often referred to as the land of “Fire and Ice” You can take advantage of it and refresh the soul and enhance your wellness. Someone might say this Thorsmork hiking day tour is a meditating hike.
On this tour, we will make some beautiful sceneries along the way into and out of the Þórsmörk Valley area, including the Gígjökull glacier, and Eyjafjallajökull outlet glacier. This is the place, where a major glacial flood grandly cascaded during the 2010 volcanic eruption if you still remember when the eruption made Iceland famous in a day.
The hike is around 8-10 km or 3-4 hours. The path is uneven at times and the route takes you uphill and downhill. This tour is for everyone, however, we recommend that you should be able to hike for 3-4 hours in total to do this activity.

From the Mjodd station just outside of Reykjavik, it’s a straight ride (with a few stops) on the 52 bus line to Hella.
